Happy Cookers
We had a great group of members that shared their
favorite treats when entertaining friends and family.
Davena Jones, Scottish Shortbread; Sallie Smelker,
Trifle; Mattie Steggell, Flan; Wendy Ditchfield,
coconut brownies; Raelene Kretchman, Trifle;
Suzanne Strauss, Apple Strudel; Connie
Cutner, chocolate bundt cake. The ladies were
very entertaining in their presentation of their dishes.
Special thanks to our cookers for this event.
Our September meeting featured a guest speaker
from The Spice Rack located at 1491 E. 6th Street in
Beaumont. We then tasted the spicy Mexican cuisine
of our own Happy Cookers members.
OCTOBER: Everything Pumpkin Join us on Oct. 27 at
11 am in the South Clubhouse as members present different
pumpkin recipes for the holidays. Our guest speaker will be
from SGMH who will discuss maintaining a healthy lifestyle
during the holidays.
Also, be sure to save the date of Dec. 5 for our annual
Christmas dinner.
Wed., Oct. 25 will be the next meeting of the Sun Lakes Genealogy
Club. We meet in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose room at 1 pm.
Membership is open to all and cost is $15 per year.
Our program will be The Salem Witch Trials presented by Diane
Thibodeau, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution,
who has done research on the subject. Quite appropriate for the
Halloween fun day approaching.
