Ladies Putters Group season starts! The
first gathering of the Ladies Putting Group
(LPG) got off to a great start. On Aug.
28 members got together at The Courts
recreation center for the group's inaugural
putting session. Prior to putting, the ladies
enjoyed an informal social, complete with
delicious appetizers.
The group consisted of beginners, all the
way up to very experienced golfers. The
more knowledgeable golfers were more than
willing to assist the beginners in how to hold
a putter, lining up the ball appropriately
and other putting nuances. Some very
generous folks donated putters to the group
for the newbies to use, which was very much
appreciated.
For this first outing there were five
teams, consisting of five players each. A
nice showing for the event. Several players
had a "hole in one" shot, which was very
impressive. The official opening day of The
Courts was well worth the wait, as everyone
had a fun time on the putting green.
The LPG will be ending their 2017 season
on Nov. 17. The ladies will be celebrating the
group's accomplishments for this year with a
potluck, to be held at The Summit.
Putting days and times are scheduled for
Mondays from 6 to 9 pm and Fridays from
9 am to 12 pm on The Courts putting green.
Remember, you don't have to be a golfer
to join in the fun. New members are always
welcome. There is a sign-up sheet, located
in the Lodge lobby, for those interested
in joining the group. See you soon on the
