Karaoke
Hi everybody and welcome to the Karaoke Corner. I had to cancel
my plans to attend the annual "talentquest" national Karaoke contest
in Laughlin this year due to a wedding in the family. Don't know if
any of you have been to it, but the talent is amazing. Karaoke at the
highest level. When you have prize money in the thousands, and
recording deals, you know that the best singers in the world will be
there. But, not to worry, I actually have been thinking about a Four
Seasons Karaoke contest as an added event this year. It would be
nice to send a winner out to compete at the Laughlin contest, but
I think the entry fee is up to five or six hundred dollars now. This
includes a room at the Tropicana for a week during the contest, but
it's pretty spendy to say the least.
I'm reminded that this contest idea was originally brought to me
by Margie Culton a couple of years ago. And then I realized that
Margie's husband Greg is a dentist, and I'm thinking that maybe the
winner of our contest could get a free tooth extraction immediately
after being announced the winner. What a show that would be!
Greg could bring some laughing gas and a pair of pliers, you know,
I think I'm on to something here. Maybe we could give the winner
two extractions and the runner up one extraction. This could
be amazing, we might get a huge crowd, not necessarily to watch
karaoke, but the awards ceremony could be a real hoot. Anyway,
maybe we can discuss it more at the next karaoke which will be Oct.
8 at 2 pm in the karaoke lounge, see you there. ~ Bill
