| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2017 | 53 Ladies Exec. Golf Welcome to Lady Executive Golfers (LEGS)! We are a 9-hole club on the Executive Course. We play weekly on Tuesday mornings with mixed play, fun scrambles and a monthly tournament. In addition, we participate with other clubs for 18-hole tournaments and "away games" a few times during the year. During the winter (October through June) we meet at 8:30 am with a tee time of 9 am the third Tuesday of each month is our monthly meeting and lunch ($10) at the South Clubhouse. Guests are welcome! We emphasize fun and socializing while striving to improve our game and become more familiar with the Rules of Golf. Join us! Women's Golf We play a variety of weekly golf games and scheduled tournaments on our Championship Course on Thursdays and on the first Saturday of each month. The first Thursday of each month is a Scramble or a Shamble, followed by our General Meeting and luncheon. In addition to our regular weekly games, we have nine major tournaments scheduled this year, including our Member/Guest Invitational Tournament and the Extravaganza, which is co-ed and played with members of the Sun Lakes Men's Golf Club. Tournaments are flighted. Our $65 annual membership fee includes a WSCGA-sanctioned handicap (Women's Southern California Golf Association). To obtain the handicap, you will need to play five 18-hole rounds on the Championship course. If you are looking for an enjoyable challenge and the camaraderie of our many golf sisters, please join us. Applications are available in the Main Pro Shop and on our Sun Lakes website. Lady Niners The Lady Niners are enjoying the use of the "forward tees." We have used these tees exclusively and appreciate the advantage it gives us. In fact, we were able to use these tees in our tournament with the Women 18-hole golfers in October. This month we are having our Turkey Shoot which goes right along with the Thanksgiving theme. This will be on the second Thursday of the month. Always fun! The Lady Niners have a distinct advantage of playing nine holes of golf on Thursdays and yet we have the opportunity to have a GHIN handicap. This means that we can play any courses around and gives us an appropriate handicap to use in outside tournaments. Thus, we enjoy the Traveler's Club, Nine-and-Dine, etc. We have our general meeting on the first Thursday of the month, Nov. 2, at 10:30 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room.
