| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2017 | 27 The Friendship Club presents Cowboys & Angels: The Music of Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks, and Patsy Cline," as its last show of the year in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom on Nov. 12. Big hair and platinum curls, an ever- present black Stetson hat, southern sweetness made sweeter with fringe — those are a few recognizable "signatures" that members will experience. Their true signatures, however, will forever be their sounds — their voices, with the twang that makes country music so sweet and endearing. Upright Cabaret's "American Icons Series" drums up the heart of honky tonk with the lovable lilt of Patsy Cline, the touching twang of Garth Brooks, and the baby-doll belt of Dolly Parton. Bringing the music of these idols to the Sun Lakes stage will be Karissa Noel, Jessie Payo, and Anthony Fedorov (from American Idol, season four) with singer- songwriter Shelley Segal and special guest Jake Simpson (a Star Search Grand Champion). Adding some modern mojo to classics like Crazy, Thunder Rolls, and 9 to 5, is a line-up like no other. A live band of banjos and slide guitars sets the perfect stage for a night in celebration of three of the greatest trailblazers whose music isn't just country — it's home. Tickets are $20 for members, $25 for non-resident guests. Doors open at 6 pm, and the show begins at 7 pm. Make checks out to Friendship Club, and deliver them to 5168 Rio Bravo Drive. For cancellations and information, call Pat (845-3789) or Judy (797-0265). A delicious buffet dinner is available in the restaurant for show goers by reservation only, beginning at 4:30 pm.
