| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2017 | 33 With the new year just around the corner, we start thinking about activities that might be of interest in the coming year. Please consider Mystery Theater. We know Sun Lakes has a plethora of talented people living here. You read about it in Lifestyles and Sun Lakes Life newspaper, you see it when attending a play or concert etc. Why not come check us out? We meet the first Tuesday of the month on the lobby side of the Main Clubhouse Ballroom at 1 pm. As our club continues to grow and different/new ideas are proposed for our productions; we are identifying additional positions needed. For example, we need a publicity person. Someone who would submit information for channel 97, create posters, table toppers, tickets, and programs. That's Entertainment's February production of "Adventures Through Time" is seeking people to help with props, music, lighting, door greeters, ticket takers and sellers. All productions of this size require many people behind the scenes working to help make every night's performance come off smoothly. Membership fees are reasonable - only $10 for an individual or $15 per couple. For more information, call Barb Searcy at 663-3382 or Jan Stapel at 769-6110. Mystery Theater & More Thanks to everyone who attended our zany production of Chatterton Country Club. We were pleased to be able to produce a play written by one of our very own Sun Lakers, Annette Tringham. The challenges we overcame to bring it to you are worthy of another play, but the entire cast and crew deserves many thanks and kudos! Auditions for our next Reader's Theater production of It Happened One Night will be Oct. 30 and Nov. 1 in the Bus Room at 9 am. Director Martie Steggell, is looking for men and women to try their hand at this fun and easy way to get comfortable on stage. Performances will be on Nov. 18 at 1 and 4pm in the South Clubhouse. Ticket sales will be Nov. 6 - 9 from 10 am to 2 pm in the Main Clubhouse Lobby. The $8 ticket includes coffee and pastries at 1 pm and wine and cheese at 4 pm. You may also call Sue Dunn at 769-7552 for will call tickets or pay $10 at the door. Drama Club Just For Laughs was a huge success with a great audience at each performance. Sunday was a sold-out crowd. If you were there, you saw our fabulous set that was exactly like that on Laugh In. Bill Shova and Gaylord Spence were the builders, and Jeann Svarvar created the design and painted it with help from Roberta and Dee. We are so grateful to each of them and to all our wonderful, talented performers who gave their best, and had the most fantastic costumes. We promised it would be fun and it was! What an exhilarating sense of pride this show has given to everyone involved. Thank you to all who attended our performances and gave us such positive feedback. In 2018 there will be a different type of show. More fun for everyone — see you then! Sun Lakes Follies
