| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2017 | 35 Paisano Club The more truly solitary we are the more compassionate we can be The more we let go of what we love the more present our love becomes The clearer our insight into what is beyond good and evil, the more we can embody the good until Finally We can say in all humility I am the Way, the Truth, the Life. ~ Lao Tse (601 BC - 531 BC); The Tao Te Ching Translated by Stephen Mitchell. No need for elucidation and silence speaks most eloquently for lauding this most beautiful expression of truth! Satsang (Group Meeting With A Spiritual Aim) begins with a 30 min. meditation (15 min. if new people are present) followed by a discourse and a short video presentation offered by a teacher adhering to the teaching of Non-Duality. As always questions are warmly encouraged. We meet weekly on Sundays from 11:30 am to 1 pm. in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. This is a FREE offering. My background includes 29 years of formal spiritual practice under the guidance of two masters and eight years of teaching (six at Sun Lakes). You need not bring anything except an open mind. My name is Gina and I can be reached at gina-sat@msn.com or 846-1220 if you have further questions. Meditation: a pathway to truth We are in the process of organizing our 2018 rallies. We finished off 2017 with a fantastic rally to Pahrump, Nevada. Our trail bosses Jim and Sandy Alexanian took us to Wine Ridge RV Resort and Cottages. We also had our annual pizza party in the South Clubhouse on Oct. 18. We elected our new officers. Ken Hurley will be our President, Tom and Nancy Boyle will be our new Vice Presidents, Sandy and Jim Alexanian will be Secretaries and Pat and Karen Hoferer will be our new Treasurers. We would like to welcome our new officers and we look forward to an exciting 2018. If you have a recreational vehicle and like to enjoy the company of good friends and fun times in some beautiful settings, this is the club for you. We offer planned activities at each of our rallies, or the chance to explore on your own. Activities may include golf, bocce, bean bag baseball or others. There are planned meals to get together with your fellow RV club members. It is a great group of people. If you are interested in joining our club or attending a rally as a guest to learn about us, please contact Jim and Sandy Alexanian at 381-1292 or sandy.alesanian@gmail.com. RV Club Who has more fun than our Paisanos? At our October offering we had wonderful Hungarian food by Thomas Catering, entertainment by Richard Lee – magic, comedy and music and a German beer hall. It was decorated by Jeanette Cadmus and crew. A big thank you to all those who brought non-perishable food items for the food bank at the October meeting. Our group has a lot of heart. On Nov. 3 we will have a hearty and scrumptious Thanksgiving buffet paired with a really fun game of horse racing. Please bring your dollars for each round of the Derby. On Dec. 1 start your Christmas season with our beautiful finale of the year, Winter Wonderland. Decorated by Jeanette and her little elves it will be absolutely astonishing. We will have a wonderful buffet with prime rib and ham, and entertained by one of our favorite entertainers, American Made. Lots of surprises in store to help wish you a Merry Christmas. Tickets are $24. Get your reservations in early as we can only seat 105. It is time to be thinking about getting your dues paid for 2018. They will be $20. Please send or deliver to Carol Choisnet, 610 Torrey Pines Rd. or call 769-2616 regarding reservations or dues. Call our president Clark Robinson for information regarding our very popular club, 797-0597.
