The YAH Board would like to extend a big thank you to Sandy Richman and her helpers, Cheryl Chapman and Karen Keating, for a job well done. The Killer Dueling Pianos was a huge success and everyone had a fabulous time. This was one of our most successful events to date. Dec. 31, New Years Eve Gala: Get ready to ring in the New Year with the YAH at the South Clubhouse. We will have BYOB cocktails from 8 to 8:30 pm followed by dinner at 8:30 pm. Dancing to the Crimson and Crow Band from 9 pm to 1 am. Cost is $35 pp and includes: Dinner: Caesar salad, chicken piccata, grilled tri-tip, roasted red potatoes, vegetable medley, rolls and dessert. New Years party favors and a champagne toast at midnight. Just a reminder that this is a BYOB party (and bring your glasses). This is open to members of the Young At Heart Club. Due to space we are limited to the first 100 Young At Heart members (reminder you must be a member as of Oct. 1 to be eligible to attend) and checks will only be accepted beginning Wed., Nov. 1. Checks are to be made payable to Young At Heart and are to be dropped off in the lock box by the front door at 1409 Birdie Drive beginning Nov. 1. If you wish to sit at a table with friends please enclose all those checks into one envelope and state on the outside of the envelope the names that will be at your table. (Tables seat 10). Jan. 21, 2018: NFL Playoffs And Chili /Salsa Contest: It's never too early to start rooting for your favorite team and prepping your secret chili or salsa recipe. This event will be held at the North Clubhouse so seating is limited to 80 people. There will be a big screen TV for viewing the games. We hope to have many varieties of chili and salsa available for your tasting pleasure. The doors to the North Clubhouse will open at 10:30 am with the game most likely starting at noon. Event is BYOB (glasses). We ask that you bring an appetizer or snack to share while waiting for the chili and salsa judging. Cost is $5 pp. Joe Shaw and Patti Webb are the contact persons for this event (312- 9775). If you plan to enter a chili or salsa for the contest, let Joe know when you drop your checks off at 651 Brooklawn Dr. Attention: If anyone is interested in serving on the YAH board for 2018, there are openings. Please join us for our traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Thomas Caterer's will be serving turkey, dressing, and all the trimmings… and apple pie for dessert. The dynamic husband and wife duo, Tin Man's Heart, will be entertaining us and we all know how GREAT they are. All this for only $14, guests are $16. If you live in Sun Lakes, you may come as a guest one time only, and then you will want to join the club.
