This year, 619 seniors participated in this wonderful event held Sept. 17 through Oct. 3. Four Seasons Beaumont was well represented by 20 of our residents. These senior athletes won 38 gold, silver or bronze medals for their efforts. There were 20 events over the 16 days of competition including cribbage, shuffleboard, table tennis, tournament blackjack, horseshoes, swimming, lawn bowling, golf, pinochle, scrabble, pickleball, chair volleyball, fun-tathlon, tennis, bingo, billiards, bench press, bowling, Texas holdem, and track and field. The medal winners from Four Seasons are: Pete Anotine with 12 medals (five gold and two silver in track and field, two bronze in table tennis, one bronze in blackjack, one bronze in billiards and one gold in bench press); Brian Anderson with seven medals (three silver and one bronze in swimming and two silver and one bronze in track and field); Richard Carrasco with five medals (one bronze in horseshoes, one silver in pickle ball, one silver in chair volleyball and one gold and one silver in track and field); Gracy Luna with four medals (one bronze in pickleball and three silver in track and field); Lola Ackerman with two gold medals in track and field.; Randy Cook with two gold medals in track and field; Shao Carrasco with one gold medal in chair volleyball; Mary Ann Diehl with one silver medal in women's billiards; Jeanine Baker with one gold medal in table tennis; Julie Stayner with one gold medal in pickleball; Lian Lee with one silver medal in table tennis; Larry Rice-with one silver medal winner in billiards. The Oldlympics events culminated with an awards banquet. It was held at the Valley-Wide Recreation Center in Hemet and was attended by about 350 people. Over 20 raffle prizes were awarded by the numerous event sponsors. Some of our residents were even raffle winners. However, the purpose of the event was to award all the athletes with the beautiful gold, silver and bronze medals. Four Seasons Beaumont had a table of 16 residents at the banquet. The dinner was delicious and we all had so much fun cheering and supporting all the medal recipients.
