FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2017 27 We have been working on a number of projects. Our recently approved projects have been repairing trip hazards, which is complete, increasing number of AEDs and relocating those already in place, which is in process, and crosswalks. Surveillance cameras at The Courts (our new recreation area), is a priority and our goal is to have the system in place in December. The next AED training is Feb. 28, at 10 am. Our last training was a huge success and we are looking forward to training more residents on how to use an AED when necessary. It is important that all residents are aware of the location of the AEDs. The RCN building has one AED that is located on the wall between the restrooms. This AED will be relocated to the area on the wall by the TV. The Lodge will have two AEDs — the AED behind the Lodge desk will be relocated to the wall by the TV, and a new AED will be installed in the Ballroom. Two new AEDs will be installed in the outside areas at the Lodge, one will be located outside the paddle tennis courts with easy access both from the courts as well as from the Amphitheater area, and a second AED will be placed on the wall outside the restrooms for easy access from the pickleball, basketball, and shuffleboard courts. The Spa building has one AED that will be relocated to the wall on left of the door as you enter the building. The Summit AED will be relocated from the wall by restroom and exercise machines to the main lounge area. The Courts will have three AEDs — one will be located on the wall outside the gym, one will be located on the outside wall of the spa building in the pool area, and the third will be located in the lattice shade area outside of tennis courts 2 and 3. Please make it a point to locate our AEDs so that you can be prepared in case of emergency. Once again, please slow down when entering and while driving within our community. The biggest concern that is brought to the Safety Committee is the excessive speed of traffic. Many are reporting of near collisions in the main traffic circle by the Potrero gate. Reports are that as people are entering our community, they are not slowing down before entering the traffic circle, creating an unsafe condition. Do not assume that the car you see in the circle is exiting, many of those cars will continue to flow through the circle in order to continue on Four Seasons Circle to their home. Crosswalks will be completed soon so please adhere to the posted 30 mph speed limit so that our residents on foot can cross our streets safely. The holidays are upon us. We would like to wish all residents a very happy holiday season. For your safety please remember to be aware of your surroundings while shopping, put all packages in your trunk or out of view, both in parking lots as well as in our community. Make sure your vehicle is locked. We meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 10 am in the RCN Conference Room. If you have any safety questions or concerns please join us. ~ Donna Lewis Safety Committee
