42 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | DECEMBER 2017 | Int'l Culture Club The second Thursday evening in December is the close out event of the year for our club. We always celebrate it in a very special way, with a very special buffet menu with the club subsidizing some of the cost for our members, keeping their cost the same as it has been. Doors to the ballroom open at 5:30 pm and you will have a pre-set dinner salad of mixed greens with dried cranberries/mushrooms/ red onion rings with ranch and raspberry vinaigrette dressings at your table as you enter. You will also find warm dinner rolls and butter. The buffet starts at 6:30 pm by table call and should be over by 7:30 pm. Should move quickly with two stations with two lines on each. You will find a strip loin carving station with Cabernet au jus and horseradish sauce, champagne salmon, garlic roasted mashed potatoes, chef 's seasonal vegetables and the "piece de resistance" for dessert which will be table served, chocolate peppermint cheesecake, along with coffee. Water is on your table and iced tea on a side board. Sign ups for this event are at the North Clubhouse at 3 pm. On the first Thursday afternoon in December. $24 for members, $27 for non-resident guest. Member dues of $25 a person for 2018 can be paid anytime and someone wishing to become a new member can do so by signing up at this time which entitles you to attend this December party. You will need two checks, one for $25 per person for 2018 membership, and one for $24 per person for the December event. If you find that you cannot attend after signing to do so, call Carol Hurt at 769-1315 by Sunday at noon, after Thursday sign-up, and she can return your check. Also call her for a take-out meal box if you cannot attend last minute. Info- Diane Hofler, 769-9308. Makua Hula Hawaiian Dancers will perform Fri., Dec. 1 for the District Tree Lighting Ceremony.
