| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | DECEMBER 2017 | 23 Golf Advisory Committee: The Tee Box 'Fore' Sun Lakers. As the end of the year approaches, the GAC would like you to step away from a tee shot you are about to hit, look at the beauty around you, and be grateful for our wonderful golf courses and playing partners. We are fortunate to have such well-maintained courses and with friends to share the golf game. The lakes on the Executive Course are finished. They are healthy and environmentally correct. We can be content, knowing the drainage issues have been corrected. The lakes look wonderful. Cart paths on holes one, thirteen, and fifteen have been improved. There was a lot of labor involved as the tree roots were extensive. We will have a smoother ride on these holes. Just a heads up for golfers with a golf handicap flag. The golf handicap flag does not permit you to park in handicap spaces. A handicap placard or handicap license plate on or in your golf cart is necessary to park in these spaces. Annual memberships need to be purchased by Dec. 31 for the $50 discount. Check in the Pro Shops for the fee schedules. We look forward to seeing you out on the courses through December. THANK YOU COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS The Association had a great response from homeowners looking to volunteer for our Sun Lakes Committees this year. A big "THANK YOU" goes out to all who have submitted applications and have gone through the interview process. The Board made the committee volunteer approvals at their Open Session on Nov. 29. Response letters will go out to all who have applied by the end of December, so that new members can be ready to start in January of 2018. We are reaching out to the community again, because we are still in need of filling three positions on our Safety and Security Committee. If you are interested, please fill out a volunteer application (located in the admin office, website, or any of the three clubhouses) and turn it in to the admin office. If you have any questions regarding the committee or the responsibilities, please call Charlye Sessner at 769-6648. A golfer's diet: live on greens as much as possible. The SLCC Library Committee has been working hard to make improvements to your library. We have provided you with an extensive Audio Book section. In addition, we have provided informative book marks, Large Print books, New York Times best seller books, and last but not least, we have provided a suggestion box in each of the four libraries that provide an opportunity for each of you to let us know how we are doing in maintaining your Library. Throughout 2018 we will continue to make your Libraries better and something to be proud of and enjoy. On behalf of the Library Committee, have a Merry Christmas and enjoy your library! Library Committee There are quite a few homeowners with dogs and, as we see everyday, they love their walks — both the dogs and their owners. We also know what a pain it is to clean up after your dog when it leaves a deposit in someone's yard. So we have formed a committee who's job it is to patrol the streets and front yards of Sun Lakes. We're looking for members who: • Enjoy the outdoors • Have a small spade/shovel • Like dogs • Have good eye-sight • Don't mind weird smells • Own walking shoes • Have bags • Enjoy wearing latex gloves So if this sounds like you, please join us every morning, rain or shine. We meet at the Main Clubhouse Parking lot at 6 am and will patrol until 11:30 am when we take a lunch break at Smitty's. We resume at 12:15 pm and will patrol until it is dark. At that time, flashlights will be distributed. If you have a hat with a light, that is also very helpful. We finish our patrol at 12 midnight. Be sure to dress for the weather and bring umbrellas when necessary. Cat poop will not be picked up. There is a separate Cat Poop Committee that is being formed for that purpose. Dog Poop Committee
