| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | DECEMBER 2017 | 51
Our bocce year has ended. We hope to get started with our Winter Tournament early in
2018. However, some changes are in the works and our timetable may be affected. This is
being written early in November; you will be reading it in late November. The changes may
already be taking place. The Master Board has approved new carpeting and sideboards
for our courts. There has been some talk of removing the concrete, digging the courts
deeper and improving the drainage. If that is actually done, our Winter Tournament may
start late or not at all, since it is usually only seven weeks long. Stay tuned!
Assuming the Winter Tournament is a go, entries will need to be in by Jan. 5 with play
beginning the week of Jan. 15. Remember, club dues have to be paid along with the team
fee and the small white card must be filled out again. Dues remain $12 per year and the
team fee is $3 per player for each tournament played. The cards are in the bocce cabinet
at the courts.

Friends of Bocce
Do you enjoy playing the billiard game of 8 Ball? If you do, come
join us. All Sun Lakes residents are welcome to practice with us
Mondays through Saturdays, however, Thursday is league play. We
normally draw for partners at noon, then play to 2 pm or so.
There is no cost to join our group. However, if you elect to join a
team, there is a $15 competition fee per three-month season. Eight
teams compete every Thursday; four at 9 am and the other four at
1 pm in our Main Clubhouse Billiards Room. For a fun afternoon of
friendly of one-on-one competition, come watch us play.
