10 SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | NOVEMBER 2017 By Theresa Rossetti, Resident Although Steve Roth, our Neil Diamond tribute show performer, didn't sing this one, he covered many of our other favorite Diamond written and sung hits during his October performance at the Lodge. Pre-show treats included fruit, meatballs, rolled sandwiches, cookies and a dessert surprise to keep us fortified, with wine, soda and water for hydration as we sang along. Steve kept us entertained with stories about Neil Diamond and his songs and even got some "help" from the audience to amuse those attending. Kudos to Richard for putting together such a fun night! By Alan Siegel, Resident At our last Communications Committee Meeting, our Editor-In Chief, Richard Booth, asked me to do a write up on Randy Riggle. "Who's Randy Riggle," I asked. "That's it," said Richard. Having accepted the task, and being informed that Mr. Riggle would be performing stand-up comedy here on Saturday, November 18th, I spent at least a minute Googling Randy Riggle. OK, less than a minute. But don't forget, I don't get paid by the hour. So, Randy Riggle, you'll be pleased to know, isn't a new fresh face! He's old enough to live here in SDV having been in show business for over 35 years. You won't be listening to someone who's old enough to be your grandson tell you jokes. You'll be listening to someone who told jokes to your grandfather. Well, he's not that old, but he's been around. Randy calls his current show "The Nostalgia Show." He takes the audience down memory lane talking about pop culture from the 50s and 60s. He also talks about having a wedding register for seniors, a unique cure for hiccups and farmers who have hemorrhoids. He does impressions of everyone from John Wayne to Elmer Fudd, George Burns, Ed Sullivan and even Kermit The Frog. Randy Riggle's promotional material invites us to "Join us for an evening of nostalgic memories of a by-gone era." Buy your tickets now for The Randy Riggle Nostalgia Show on Saturday, November 18 at 6 pm. Seating is limited. RIGGLE'S GIGGLES, A PREVIEW YOU GOT TO ME
