garden club NOVEMBER MEETING: Nov. 14, at 10 am at the Main Clubhouse. Our featured speaker will be Tom Shea, who will give a presentation on Citrus Trees and More. CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON: Dec. 12, in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. All residents and guests are welcome. Tickets may be purchased at the November meeting or by contacting Betty Beidelman at 769-6200. The cost of the tickets is $22. Make checks payable to Sun Lakes Garden Club. There will be a raffle for some great gifts and some special entertainment for your enjoyment. So get your tickets early. The proceeds from the raffle will go to the Battered Women's Shelter. Info., Beverly Boatman at 845-1155 or Johnnie Phillips at 769-5436. SEES CANDIES: The chocolates have arrived! We will sell them at the Craft Fair Fri., Nov. 2, and Sat., Nov. 3, in the Main Clubhouse Lobby. A box of chocolates makes a wonderful hostess gift for Thanksgiving, etc. We will also be selling lollipops, peanut brittle, and gift certificates. Info., Mary or Don Ruygrok at 845-1296. GARDEN CLUB TRIPS: Flyers will be available and reservations can be made for any of the following trips at the regular meetings. Info., Evelyn Hawkins, 845-7199. ANNENBERG GARDENS, SUNNYLAND CENTER & PATTON MUSEUM AT CHIRIACA SUMMIT: Thurs., Nov. 29. The price is $30 pp and includes tour of gardens, film of the Annenberg Estate, Tour of the Patton Museum and bus and tip. Lunch will be on your own at the Museum. The bus will leave the bus room at the Main Clubhouse at 8 am. The tour of the inside of the Annenberg Estates, originally scheduled for Nov. 28 is being postponed until 2013. "YOUNG AMERICANS" MATINEE PERFORMANCE, LA MIRADA THEATER: Dec. 2, $69 pp for reserved seat and bus trip. GONDOLA TOUR HOLIDAY DECORATIONS IN LONG BEACH: Dec. 10, with Belmont dinner on your own. $45 pp for bus, one hour gondola ride and champagne and snack after trip. ITEMS FOR CHARITY: We collect Campbell Soup Labels, Box Tops for Schools, used eye glasses, cell phones, stuffed animals, travel bags, and any unopened toiletries, for donations to local charities.
