We hope everyone enjoyed their respective holidays, with friends and family. Regarding the holidays, a big thank you to everyone who attended our Holiday Show. Not only has the choir been improving, but so have you, our audience. Your applause and positivity help us put on a better show. Special thank yous go out to our sound, lighting, and stage crews: Stan Sweeney, Michael Rothberg, Larry Goodreau, Andy Shipper, John Barilone, Teri Di Marino, Jeff Davidson, Pete Antoine, and Marianne Mendoza. Our accompanists were Bertsey Seim (piano), Anne Savy (flute), and Lois Farr (violin). For this fun show we have actors to thank: Tom Glover as Frosty, John Horning as The Grinch, Bruce Lewis as Rudolph and finally, Fred Weck as Santa! And yes, we are most fortunate to have Barbara Wasco as Choir Director and Cindy Graves as Activity Director. These two women put a lot of effort into making this performance special and noteworthy. Many months prior to the holidays, Barbara researches many songs, and then, it seems to the choir, she chooses the most difficult ones. She has the patience of a saint, because what the choir starts out sounding like is a far cry from where we finish. Cindy Graves is a heroine in her own right… booking the non-choir related talent portion of the show and more. This year she outdid herself by having the beautiful voice of Joanne LaPointe entertain us. Overall, it was an awesome show that everyone seemed to enjoy immensely. You can see that it takes a small village to put on a show! Thanks again! In November, we held elections for President and Secretary. Cathy Goldsmith is taking over the Presidency from our Group Facilitator, Barbara Wasco and I am assuming the Secretarial duties from Jane White. We owe a lot to these two women who worked tirelessly to help our group grow and succeed in so many ways. Thank you both for your time and commitment. I am very confident that Cathy brings a special skill set to her new role and I will continue to write the Breeze article in addition to taking the meetings' minutes. Our next show, is one of your favorites, the Olde Tyme Radio Show. It will be on Saturday, March 5. In order to do this performance we need men and women to be our actors! There is zero memorization. We read directly from the scripts. It's easy-peasy and not a lot of rehearsals! However you do need to act. At our last radio show performance we had passed out questionnaires asking for your advice on future shows. We have reviewed your responses and will be bringing you new show titles to enjoy. On Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 6 pm, we will be having a "read-through" (audition-lite) of both shows. It will be held in the Lodge but the specific room is TBD. When I have the room, I will post it in Four Seasons-NextDoor or you can check with the Front Desk. It's a lot of fun to participate. I hope to see many new faces at the read-through. If you have any questions regarding this please don't hesitate to contact me at (951) 992-8156 or terimk@ verizon.net. ~ Teri Meyers-Kelman 42 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2018 Performing Arts Club Radio Show Read Through/ Audition-Lite Jan. 17, 6 pm Location TBD Check with the Front Desk
