FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2018 53 We had so much fun at the holiday party! Our hostesses were Joy Collins and Lois LeMottee, who did an amazing job making reservations at Tukwet and putting sweet gift bags at each of the place settings for the 23 ladies who attended. The ladies all came in their Christmas glitter-wear, and there was lots of conversation and holiday laughter to go around. We also had a $10 gift exchange and the gifts were given and received in the spirit of this joyful season. We had a really nice time, as evidenced by the photos. After the luncheon we returned to the Lodge and had a wonderful competitive afternoon playing pool. As of Jan. 8, Eileen Gilbert-Antoine will be stepping down as our leader, and Leta Ramirez and Pat Semler have generously agreed to be the co-leaders of the group. We have several tournaments set already: the first in-house tournament of 2018 will be held on Jan. 22. As the ladies have honed their skills, the competition is becoming more exciting. Whether winners or non-winners, fun is had by all. (Okay, it's a bit stressful too, but hey, aren't all tournaments?) On Feb. 12, the Curly Cues will again host a tournament against the Billiards for Fun Group. Since most members of that group are guys, it's fun to see how they do against the ladies. (Not bragging at all, but as a result of the last two tournaments the ladies have prevailed, and although the guys are committed to giving the Curly Cues their first loss, there's no revengeful intent there. We think. We hope.) On Feb. 26, the Curly Cues will be challenging the Hemet Solera ladies billiards team, the Side Pocket Sisters. It will be fun to meet the ladies and spot check our individual expertise against (from what we hear) a pretty formidable team. Wish us luck! If you are interested in learning the game of pool so you too can join the Curly Cues, please contact Leta Ramirez or Pat Semler so they can arrange for lessons, or if you have already conquered this frustrating… I mean really fun game, they can give you an outline of the APA rules we follow. C'mon out, we'd love to have you be part of our fun ladies group! ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine Curly Cues Christmas party at Tukwet Gifts for the exchange Regular play at 1 pm in glitter attire Our newest member, Bonnie McKenna, takes a shot
