FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2018 43 Let's Dance Heart & Soul Line Dance Happy New Year! Remember your New Year's Resolution to get fit and have more fun? Our group offers both. We will resume classes on Monday, Jan. 8, in the Ballroom. The featured dance for January will be the Foxtrot. The Foxtrot is the most common slow dance people use. It is a great foundation dance that helps couples learn how to dance together, i.e. lead and follow each other, learn basic footwork, and begin to learn about timing. It is easy to learn and therefore fun to do. Our teachers are professionally-trained dancers and instructors offering top quality instruction at a bargain price. They have endless patience and understanding. We, the students, are just ordinary folks who enjoy moving to the sound and beat of the music. The exercise for our bodies and our minds is a bonus and keeps us fit. This is a great way to meet our neighbors while learning something new and having fun! Reminder to singles: Our Let's Dance Group has opened the class for a single resident of Four Seasons to bring a dance partner who does not live in Four Seasons. This is a new development and we encourage all singles to take note. Our schedule is: 6:30 to 7 pm, beginners, $5 pp (fun and easy); 7 to 7:30 pm, intermediate; 7:30 to 8 pm, advanced, $5 pp. An hour and a half, covering basics through more advanced dance, is only $10 pp. What a bargain! Come join us on Mondays in the Ballroom, you will be glad you did! Contacts: Puring or Gary Stifter at (951) 922-8333 or at purings@verizon.net. ~ Sue Condurachi Happy New Year to all my dancers, past and present. I hope that 2018 brings each you good health. May you get the opportunity to explore and experience new things that will keep you happy and relaxed. I look forward to another year of bringing fun dances. See you on the dance floor. Join us for classes on Wednesdays from 4 to 5:25 pm (Beginner) or 5:30 to 6 pm (Intermediate). See you on the dance floor! Information, Priscilla Robles, (909) 239-6464. ~ Priscilla Robles Our group had so much fun dancing over the holidays. Seems like any time we have the room and the music, most of the dancers come. There will be a free sock hop Jan. 12, 5 to 8:30 pm in the Ballroom. Everyone is invited. Our favorite DJ will be providing the music. Buy dinner from Smitty's and BYOB. We will provide ice, water and glasses. Of course, this all depends on Ballroom construction. I have had many new dancers this past year, most of them caught on after the first few weeks of instruction. This month has a very beginners class from 2:30 to 3 pm every Tuesday in the Ballroom. This is for very beginners only and you must attend each class to go on to the next. There are five Tuesdays this month, so you have an extra week. Line dancing is taught by steps. Once you learn some basic steps, those same steps show up in other songs just in a different order. Since you don't need a partner, line dancing is easier to learn. And line dancing has many "variations" adjusting for personal preferences or physical limitations. Come join us and let me help you get some exercise and meet new friends all at the same time. We usually meet in alternate months on the fourth Thursday – our next meeting will be on Thursday, Jan. 25 at 6 pm. We gather at the atrium in the Lodge, order food at Smitty's and then move to the Lodge Card Room. Feel free to bring your own adult beverage, if you desire, and appropriate glassware. Everyone is welcome. Any questions can be directed to Dale at (951) 797-0364. ~ Dale Beckes Rainbow Group
