Happy New Year! We are looking forward to a New Year of riding.
During the cooler months we can ride in the desert and, when it gets
warmer, we head for the mountains. Beaumont is such a great place
for motorcyclists.
Our last overnight ride of 2017 was to Jacumba Hot Springs Resort.
It was a beautiful two-day ride, totaling just over 400 miles, almost all
of which were non-freeway miles. The riders were Bob Howard, Jim
Ayala, Bernie Albanese, Paul Bricker and Chuck Price. The photo was
taken at Desert View Tower on the way to Jacumba. All of the riders
thought so much of Bob's route that they intend to visit Jacumba
again, reversing the route next time for variety.
In 2018 we will continue our weekly "Day Rides" leaving the Lodge
at 9 am on Thursdays. We are also putting the final plans together
for a multi-day trip to Utah in May. This trip will include several
National Parks, Monument Valley and parts of northern Arizona.
If you ride, come attend one of our monthly meetings to meet and
socialize with your motorcycling neighbors. Our meetings are held
on the first Wednesday of each month at 6 pm in the RCN Conference
Room. Join any Thursday day ride by just showing up in the Lodge
parking lot before 9 am on Thursdays. ~ Howard Lyon
