The Sun Lakes Art League mission is to encourage members to enjoy art and artistic endeavors. We have many art-related activities and welcome your participation. Membership is open to all Sun Lakes residents. Membership dues for 2018 are $20 and are now due. Membership forms can be found in the Main Clubhouse. For further information contact Gladys Burks at 769-8208. Our general meetings are held from 2 to 4 pm every third Sunday of each month in the South Clubhouse. Art demonstrations and mini-shows are featured during the monthly meetings. Art Shows are held in the Main Clubhouse twice a year. The art cases in the Main Clubhouse showcase the art work of club members. Yours could be one of them. The Art League often sponsors half-day workshops which are held on Monday mornings from 9 am to 12 noon in the Main Clubhouse Arts and Crafts room. Half-day workshop fees are $20 for members and $25 for non-members. We will be providing painting lessons in water color, acrylic, oil, pastel, etc., by renowned local artists on Mondays from 9 am to 12 noon at reasonable rates. Also, we are planning a couple of field trips to museums during the year. Come, have fun, learn new painting techniques. Be part of the Sun Lakes Art League. David Fairrington will critique paintings that Art League members bring to the meeting, as time allows.
