Our next dinner meeting is Fri., Jan. 12 at 6 pm in the South Clubhouse. Happy 10th birthday to us! Yes, Sun Lakes Social Singles is having our 10th birthday. Thomas Caterer's will be dishin' up their delicious prime rib dinner. The fabulous singer/comedian, Joanne Lapointe will be performing. We are subsidizing (this month only) the dinner and no guests will be invited to the January dinner, but starting in February, guests will be welcome. Guests living outside of Sun Lakes and are friends of a resident will be $17 pp. If you live in Sun Lakes you may come as a guest one time only. Make checks payable to Social Singles and drop your checks off at Pat Corrall's home, 5826 Lake Buena Vista, 769-0957. Those that want to sit together should put their checks in one envelope. Reservations and cancellations must be in the FRIDAY BEFORE the dinner. Pat Corrall will be collecting the 2018 dues of $15 at the dinner. You may also drop the checks off at her home. Dinners have gone up to $15. Guests dinners are now $17. The YAH Board would like to extend a big thank you to Sandy Alexanian, Jerry and Marilyn Woodard and all their helpers, for a glorious New Years Eve party. Thank you all for a job well done. Jan. 21, NFL Playoffs & Chili /Salsa Contest: It's never too early to start rooting for your favorite team and prepping your secret chili or salsa recipe. This event will be held at the North Clubhouse so seating is limited to 80 persons. There will be a big screen TV for viewing the games. We hope to have many varieties of chili and salsa available for your tasting pleasure. The doors to the North Clubhouse will open at 10:30 am with the game most likely starting at noon. Event is BYOB (and glasses). We ask that you bring an appetizer or snack to share while waiting for the Chili and Salsa judging. Cost is $5 pp and Joe Shaw and Patti Webb are the contact persons for this event (312- 9775). If you plan to enter chili or salsa for the contest, let Joe know when you drop your checks off at 651 Brooklawn Dr. Hurry and get your checks in. Limited seating at the North Clubhouse. Feb. 24: Evening In Paris: Save The Date! Here is an event to brighten up the dark gloom of winter without leaving Sun Lakes. For those of us who love Paris, those who would love to return to Paris or for those who have never been to Paris this evening promises to be an enchanting time filled with the delights of the City of Lights. Delight in the colors, food and music of Paris. This event will be held at the North Clubhouse. Event is BYOB (and glasses). Nick Caputo and Debbie Pritchett (909-486-5231) are hosting. This event is still "under construction" so look for specific details in the February Lifestyles. In the words of French actress Brigitte Bardot, "This soirée can't be missed."
