We have 18 teams competing this session and everyone is psyched to be in first place. After eight weeks of bowling, Team 7, Just For Fun (Clarissa and Andy Toro, Carmen and Rob Gardner) has the lead with a total of 23 wins. But not to worry, it's still early in the season so keep those balls rolling. SEASON HIGH SCORES: Team Scratch Series: Bi-Polar Rollers (Carol & Larry Ellis, Sallie Flesher and Sandy Hepburn; Team Scratch Game: Bowl Movement (Lakana & Frank Burkett, Jerry Campbell, and Tom Leamy. Men's Scratch Series: Andy Toro (722) Men's Scratch Game: Marv Steggell (221); Women's Scratch Series: Carol Ellis (501) Women's Scratch Game Peg Laurel (192). Team Handicap Series: Help Us (Rosemary Dimitt, Karen & John Enderson, Dolph Mason); Team Handicap Game: Just 4 Fun (Clarissa & Andy Toro, Carmen & Rob Gardner). Bowlers must have a minimum 21 games (before bowling) to be listed for high handicap game and series. Due to some injuries, we have a few spots open for bowlers. If you're interested in joining in the fun, call Teri Comerford at (760) 217-9656. Let's keep the fun rolling. Sun Lakers at Canyon Lanes We are well into our fall season at Canyon Lanes. With 20 weeks remaining anything can happen. If your team is not near the top in the winning column don't be discouraged. The team in 24th place is only ten games behind the number six team. If you are not bowling as well as you would like now is the time to take a lesson. I just hope everyone is having fun. Our first place team is "Just Lucky" with Gail Stormes, Marlene Gartman, Larry Stormes and Andy Toro. In second place is "Four Play" with Mitzi Taniguchi, Donna Reed, Ed Reed, and Ken Smelker. Season high scores for the men: Rick Shanefelt with High Scratch Series of 717, Andy Toro with High Scratch Game of 278, Ed Quirke with High Handicap Series of 790 and Bruce Herwig with High Handicap Game of 279. Season High Scores for the women: Pam Obry with High Scratch Series of 539, Gail Stormes with High Scratch Game with a 201, Maureen Condon with High Handicap Series of 735 and Lakana Burkett with High Handicap Game of 265. I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Sun Lakers III As of this writing we are not quite through half of our season. In first place we have "Four Play," Mitzi Tanuchi, Sally Brown, Bud Miner and Ken Smelker. High scratch game Frank Weiler with a 279 and Maureen Farra with a 207. WOW in my dreams. Not getting enough credit currently in last place, we have team, "Late Arrival," with Gail Daniello,Vance Daniello, Laura Kosla and Ron Kosla, tough competition, we've played them. Way to go! We bowl at Canyon Lanes in Cabazon, a short easy little drive. They have house balls you can use of many different weights and rental shoes, so what's stopping you from joining us! Oh… I'm not good enough — wrong! Just come watch one Wednesday morning in Cabazon and you'll quickly see, you fit right in.
