Now with the new year underway, keep a look out for all the exciting upcoming events. Remember you can gain information about all of the upcoming Recreation events by checking out your monthly Lifestyles, tuning into Channel 97 on your television set and also by checking out the Sun Lakes website. This year we have a plethora of new and intriguing events like our fourth annual Chili Cook-Off and Mirage, the premier Fleetwood Mac cover band coming to Sun Lakes in September. These plus a number of other events and concerts are sure to please so make sure you partake in all the fun and excitement in 2018. ~ Jason Ewals FROM THE RECREATION DEPARTMENT: AWESOME 2018 IN STORE A big thanks to District 7 who came through with over 60 participants in this years Veterans Walk. In addition, I would like to thank District 22 who so graciously donated funds from their Veterans Day Golf Tournament that they held. They were a big part of our Veterans Walk and we couldn't do it without contributions from them as well as all the other sponsors and participants. Thank you for helping with this great cause. IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO LEARN! TAKE PIANO LESSONS HERE AT SUN LAKES! If you are interested in piano lessons at the South Clubhouse please call Derry from So Cal Pianos at 760-779-1100. BLOOD DRIVE Tues., Feb. 13, 9 am – 2 pm, Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Sun Lakes is hosting a blood drive to support Lifestream, which is a blood bank for the San Bernardino & Riverside Counties. The donated blood goes to local hospitals in our area such as Beaver Medical, San Gorgonio, and Loma Linda. Please help us on this day by donating blood. Our goal is to have 40 people donate! If you are interested please call the reception desk and sign up for a time slot. We have time slots every 15 minutes from 9 am to 2 pm. The donation center will be the Bloodmobile which will be set up in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Hope to see you there! HEARING AID CHECK AND CLEANING Do you have hearing aids but you're not sure if they are working properly or if they need to be cleaned? Well we have a great opportunity for you. Johnsons Hearing will be on-site in the Bus Room for a two hour period once a month to check and clean your hearing aids free of charge. The dates are Fridays from 10 am to 12 pm on Feb. 9, March 9, and April 13.
