Due to some of the excursion refund policies and to keep cancellations down to a minimum, we ask those who wish to sign up for an excursion to please check your calendar for prior engagements prior to signing up for excursions. REFUND POLICY: 1. Cancellations made 30 days prior to the departure date of an excursion or special event will qualify for a full refund, unless otherwise specified. 2. Cancellations made after the 30 day refund deadline are not refundable. However, if an excursion or event has sold out and there is a wait list, the Recreation Department may issue a refund if the ticket can be resold from the wait list. For theater excursions, please let staff know at the time of sign up if you would like to sit next to a specific person. For casino trips, residents must provide addresses for their guests. EXCURSIONS EXCURSION SIGN UPS: THURS., FEB. 1, 8 AM American Visionary: The Life & Times of JFK Presented by the Bowers Museum If you are looking for enjoyment, friendships, new places to see, or just to get out for the day, try coming along for one of the many day trips that the Recreation Department has to offer. We travel to museums, casinos, live theater, symphonies, gardens, concerts, and we also offer a few multiple day trips throughout the year. Some trips will offer lunches or dinners that are included in the price. Flyers can be found in the Main Clubhouse Lobby or call the Recreation Department for more information on the fabulous day trips and special events Tues., April 24, 8:30 am – 4 pm, $47 pp, includes lunch. The Bowers Museum is an art museum located in Orange County, California. The museum's permanent collection includes more than 100,000 objects, and features notable strengths in the areas of Pre-Columbian, Mesoamerica, Native American Art, the arts of Asia, Africa, and Oceania. The Bowers organizes and hosts special exhibitions nationally and internationally. Today we will visit the Bowers and tour the incredible JFK exhibit. One of the Country's most admired and most charismatic Presidents, no single Politician was photographed more than JFK. From his direct Congressional Bid as a decorated War Hero in 1948, to his fairytale marriage to Jacqueline Bouvier in 1953 to his run for the White House, his role as Commander-In- Chief, his commitment to the Arts, his travel around the world and the final tragedy in Dallas. American Visionary captures the dramatic scope of Kennedy's life through the presentation of over 70 photographs and is the most exhaustively researched collection of Kennedy photos ever assembled. The exhibition is produced by WS Productions in association with the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library. You will have plenty of time to view the permanent exhibits before your lunch at 11:30 am. The Docent Tour of the JFK exhibit will be at 12:30pm. Lunch includes a half turkey & cheese sandwich and half roast beef sandwich served with salad, coffee, iced or hot tea.
