| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | FEBRUARY 2018 | 25 Many members of Cruzin' Cronies drive cars that are often called "True Classics," referring to cars from the 30s and 40s. They comprise the most expensive, rare, custom built cars of that period and include Rolls Royce, Bentley, Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg, Cadillac, Chrysler, Mercedes Benz, and Packard. In Southern California, there are 200+ "True Classics," but nearly all are seldom driven. Most are covered, parked in garages, or cocooned in a trailer. Cruzin' Cronies members enjoy showing off their cars, classic or specialty, in local car shows around the Pass area, and in the Main Clubhouse parking lot before each of our monthly meetings. We meet the first Saturday of each month. We display our cars at 8 am in the Main Clubhouse parking lot, and then meet briefly in the Multipurpose Room at 8:30 am. During the meeting, we plan group events, trips to various venues, and hear reports on car shows many of us have attended or plan to attend. After the meeting, we go out for breakfast to enjoy each other's company. Our club will be dark in February. Come join us at our next meeting on Sat., March 3. There are no dues, just friendship, outings, and laughter. You don't even need a classic car to be a part of this happy group! For more information, call or email Sandra Glickman at 267-1113 or glickman18@gmail.com. We'd love to have you join us! Cruzin' Cronies The Sun Lakes Photo Group meets on the second Monday of each month at 7 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. As a Group, there is no entrance fee to join. The only cost to you is your interest in photography. Most months, we share up to five photos per person on the large projector screen. Sometimes we give monthly assignments to be shared the following month, but most months the five photos are of anything you want them to be. Occasionally a short tutorial or guest speaker will follow the photo sharing session. No advance sign-ups are required. Come to any meeting at any time. Hopefully, there will be enough interest to see you back another time! Photo Group Chorale The Chorale is off to a great start, with our ranks growing every week. From the iconic songs of George Gershwin and Richard Rogers to the well-loved classics of Irving Berlin, our Spring Concert is shaping up beautifully. Songs from "An American Songbook" will please your ears at our concert series on May 4 and 5 at 7 pm, and May 6 at 3 pm. Save those dates! If you love to sing, hum, warble, or belt out a number in the shower, come join us! We meet every Monday morning at 9:30 am in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. For more information, contact Linda Vieira at 797-0315 or lvieira@eltree.com. The next General Meeting is Sun., Feb. 18, at 2 pm at the South Clubhouse. Marge Amstadter will talk about Composition. Good composition is the key to the success of a painting, and Marge's presentation will help us all make our paintings better. All Sun Lakes residents and guests are welcome at our general meetings. Marge will also hold four Monday morning workshops on Composition on Feb. 19 and 26 and March 5 and 12. Please contact Nancy Watterson at banningqueen@gmail.com or at 797-3550 to sign up for the classes or for more information. The dues for 2018 are $20. For information on joining the Art League, please contact Membership Chairperson Gladys Burks at 769-8208. Art League
