You might want to throw a few balls to see how the surface and boards react. The Winter Tournament begins the week of Feb. 5 and runs the usual seven weeks. However, the Spring Tournament, which is usually a ten week tournament, has been shortened to a seven week tournament in order to get our tournaments back on track. The Summer and Fall Tournaments will be 10 and 9 week tournaments respectively just to fit in between the holidays. There seems to be some confusion about filling out the entry cards. At the beginning of each calendar year, teams must fill out a new card, even if your team has remained intact. If, during said year, your team has a personnel change, a new card must be filled out. Fewer and fewer teams are giving a second choice — makes it VERY difficult to round out the schedule! We realize everyone is busy. Think on it! Many times 'Friends of Bocce' find it necessary to contact members by email — such as the current schedule revision. If you are not receiving our e-mails, it could be because we don't have your address! Pass it along to Dutch when you see her or call her at 845-0392. If you do, come join us. All Sun Lakes residents are welcome to practice with us Mondays thru Saturdays, except for Thursday which is league play. We normally draw for partners at noon, then play until 2 pm or so. There is no cost to join our group. However, if you elect to join a team, there is a $15 competition fee per three-month season. Eight teams compete every Thursday; four teams at 9am and the other four at 1pm in our Main Clubhouse Billiards Room. For a fun afternoon of friendly one-on-one competition, come watch us play.
