The Men's Club Board set the criteria for their tournament use several months ago. It is the player must be 75 years old or older, have a handicap of 27 or more, and to be used in a tournament there must be enough players signed up for the gold tees to create a separate flight (a minimum of eight). If you are interested in utilizing the gold tees in the tournaments where they are applicable be sure to indicate that when you sign up. February is here and we continue the 2018 Men's Golf Club Schedule on Wed., Feb. 2 with the 1st Men's Club Quarterly Tournament for 2018. Based on feedback from members, the Board has decided to reduce the number of tournaments from 24 to 18. Please take note of tournament dates, mark them on your calendar, sign up on the sheet in the Pro Shop, and plan to play in as many as you can. To be eligible to play in the tournaments you must be a member of the Men's Golf Club. If you haven't renewed you 2018 membership yet, the applications can be picked up in the Pro Shop. The 2018 rate is $70, which includes your 2018 SCGA Ghinn Membership ($36) and ($34) men's club dues. We also offer an associate membership for $34 to residents who no longer play in our tournaments but who would like to be included in our luncheons and other social events. Executive Men's Golf Friday Executive Men's Golf Club meets weekly at the North Clubhouse at 8:30 am for a 9 am Shotgun start. Tournaments are held on the third Friday of the month followed by a catered lunch at the South Clubhouse. We have three holes with closest to the pin to win $. Our next tournament is Fri., Feb. 16, and is Individual Stroke. Remember to sign up by Tuesday. The EMGC is open to all male residents of Sun Lakes. COME JOIN US! Saturday Morning Golf This is a fun group of men, women, couples and singles. Golfers of all levels and ages. We play every Saturday morning on the Executive Course. Players meet at the North Clubhouse at 8:30 for a 9 am tee start. (July 1-Oct. 1, 8 am check-in, 8:30 am tee off. We have tournaments for everyone, plus closest to the pin for men and women. Our tournaments are held every second Saturday with a variety of formats. Trophies at year-end to club champions with the best gross and net score. Quarterly luncheons/dinners and our annual meeting in November. New member forms are available in the North Pro Shop. Annual membership is $15.
