52 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2018
Pickleball Central recently noted that players gather to "play
pickleball, socialize, and raise money for a good cause." On a very
windy Nov. 4 afternoon, Four Seasons' picklers participated in the
first Pickleball Play Day Fundraiser. The fun-loving players enjoyed
"crazy pickle games" and round-robin games. Tasty BBQ hot
dogs were served up by Doug Dupree. Due to the kind hearts and
generosity of our players, over $1,100 was raised for the Children's
Tumor Foundation (CTF) organization. The main goal for CTF is
to find a cure for the genetic disease known as Neurofibromatosis,
which causes tumors to develop throughout the body. One in every
3,000 people can be affected by this disease. We were thrilled to be a
contributing group for this cause!
On Dec. 16 our pickleball family gathered together in the Ballroom
for our annual Christmas party. More than 70 people enjoyed great
food, delicious desserts made by Janelle vonKleist, and fun games.
The winners of the "paper plate on the head drawing" were Terry
Albright and Jesse Aceves.
