| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | FEBRUARY 2018 | 13 Landscape Committee Finance Committee The total assets balance is $5,227,030.10. This includes reserves of $3,985,995.95. Total liabilities at this time are $122,638.09. Total equity is $1,118,396.08 which is a surplus. By the time you read this, most of January will have been experienced and we are now prompted to prepare for the February's holiday. Aaaaah that would be Valentine's Day — such a sweet, chocolate and heart day! One very lucky couple could use their winning ticket for "BRUNCH FOR TWO" at Four Seasons. Sid, I think flowers or diamonds would still be in order for Dena (we girls have to stick together). Sid and Dena Cohn's ticket was drawn by Betty Bennett. Have a wonderful February everyone! Bistro Committee As you may have noticed, a portion of the front area of the Lodge has had a recent landscape makeover. We salvaged trees and plants that could be saved, and added a significant amount of new plants and trees, greatly enhancing that area. Based on your comments and feedback to the committee members and the Board of Directors, what has been completed so far has been met with high praise from homeowners. We have to thank Artistic as they really do a bang up job in keeping our community looking so beautiful. Phase Two of this project, when done, will complete the landscape restoration of the parking lot area. The Board of Directors has reviewed the Phase Two project, approved it and scheduled it to start in late March or early April, depending on weather conditions. With the recent rains, everyone should have turned down or turned off their irrigation system. It is surprising to drive around and see some folks are still irrigating while rain is coming down. Our soil in this community is primarily clay and overwatering is not only costly but plant roots will drown causing plants and trees to turn yellow or die. From time to time the committee gets requests from homeowners to remove one or more trees. Generally the reasoning for the request is because the tree is messy. Yes, trees can be messy, some more than others, but it is not a reason for a tree to be removed. Trees add to the beauty of our community and are an asset. Would you enjoy a community where there were no trees at all? We don't think so. Saying that, there may be times and reasons to request removal of a tree. Any requests for removal of a tree should be submitted to the Lodge front desk. It will be forwarded to the committee for consideration. "Brunch for Two" winners Sid and Dena Cohn
