| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MARCH 2018 | 59 Men's Golf Wow! What a great night we had at the Awards/Appreciation Dinner event. Over 100 people were there to enjoy a great meal, wonderful entertainment by Larry and Sheila James, awards presentations, door prizes, and fellowship. It was great to have the wives and significant others join us for this festive occasion. We know that this night is something that we can build on for the future. In March 2018 we have two great tournaments. First on Wed., March 7 will be a Sun Lakes Safari (modified). The Second Tournament will be held on Sat., March 24 and will be a Two-Man Scramble (computer draw). Our 2018 Men's Golf Club membership drive is still ongoing. This year looks to be a great year to belong to our Men's Golf Club. In addition to an enhanced tournament schedule, we will also be continuing the second Wednesday of the month reverse shotgun along with more beef and beer, etc. gatherings on the Veranda. We continue to encourage members from last year to renew their memberships. Dues are $70, $34 goes towards men's club dues and $36 pays for maintaining your S.C.G.A./Ghin handicap. There are currently 217 members enrolled. This is slightly ahead of this time last year. We want to grow our membership. Members from last year who have not yet renewed your membership please do so promptly. The Quarterly and Eclectic tournaments are coming up soon. You must have your membership renewed in order to play in these events. In the event you are no longer able to participate in the tournaments, we do have an Associate Membership ($34) that will entitle you to join us in our luncheons, social events and club meetings. Membership forms are available in the Pro Shop. Contact Bill Nevins 846-9910. Executive Men's Golf Time for spring golf. The weather should be changing, maybe less wind. Come join us. The Executive is an 18 hole course with four challenging par fours and lots of water. We have a tournament on the third Friday of the month. The tournament for March is on March 16, Irish 4-Ball (pick your team). Membership is open to all Sun Lakes male residents, and all levels of golfers are welcome.
