42 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MARCH 2018 | 80s Plus Club Our upcoming gatherings are March 10 and April 14. Come join us! The January entertainment was such a treat. It was the Pink Ukeladies and they transported us to Hawaii for their very special and unique sounds of their ukuleles serenading their voices. They included songs like Tiny Bubbles, Pearly Shells, Little Grass Shack and even some numbers that were not Hawaiian but still gave the feel. We were their first performance ever and they were a total success! Thank you Pink Ukeladies. The 80s Plus Club always meets the second Saturday of the month. We meet in the North Clubhouse at 3 pm for a catered meal. Please get your reservations and checks for $11 pp to Sandee at (909) 301-9044, 1469 Littler, by the end of the prior month. Spouses and caregivers are welcome to attend as well. Many members have brought their visiting children or other out of town visiting guests also. You just need to let us know in advance for a head count for the caterer. For information, call Barb at 845-7904. The Stardust Dancers are accepting new students, male and female for the coming year. If you have always wanted to perform on stage, this is the place for you. New people are always welcome. You will learn the basics of performing, and the fine points of how to look good doing it. All that is required is the strong desire to learn and perfect skills taught. The male models have done exceptionally well for their first performance. Openings are available. Female classes are working on a "Calendar Girl" routine for the July Show. New dances being prepared for the 2018 season are: "Hello Dolly," "Phantom of the Opera" and a fun line dance. Come and join us. No qualifying necessary. No try-outs. Just a desire to participate, to improve your health through exercise, and have fun dancing. Instructor and choreographer is Evelyn Hawkins. Stardust Dancers We have two fun dances scheduled for this month. The first is on Thurs., March 1. The second on Thurs., March 29. These dances are in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom from 7 to 9 pm. At these dances we do both line and couples dances. Line dance instructions are Mondays, March 5, 12, and 19. NOTE that there will be NO line dance instruction on March 26. Instructions are in the South Clubhouse from 7 to 8:30 pm. The line dancers are now learning and enjoying intermediate difficulty dances. We will start over in September with very basic dances. However, if you are interested feel free to come and see what we do and how we do it at any of our events. We also do couples dance instruction. There is only one instruction this month on Tues., March 13, from 7 to 8 pm at the South Clubhouse. Have questions or need more information? Call Joe or Jean at 769-9148.
