Our speaker this month is Alex Stathis on Hugging Your Houseplants and Health Benefits. Alex is from Mountain View Growers in Yucaipa. He was born in Texas and moved to California when his dad was in the service. He attended San Gorgonio High School and college in San Bernardino, where he started working for Mountain View Growers in 1978. It is a wholesale/ retail nursery and then moved to Yucaipa where it is located today. Alex will be sharing his wealth of information regarding houseplants, how to care for them and how we can benefit from live plants in our homes. Meetings are held in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom the second Wednesday of the month from 10 am to 12 pm. The Garden Club Tour Date is Sat., April 14, 10 am to 4 pm. All are welcome to enter. Share your garden with us! Back yard only - no set category this year. Entry forms are available at the Main Clubhouse near the reception desk until March 14. Deadline is March 14 to enter. You do not need to be a member of the Garden Club to enter. The Spring Luncheon will be on May 9 and the theme will be "Plant A Hat." Members are encouraged to enter the hat contest, decorated anyway you choose. A fashion show will be held. Tickets are available now.
