Team 7, "Just For Fun" (Clarissa and Andy Toro, Carmen Gardner and Cork Irwin) continues to hold on to the lead with 44 wins. Team 1, "3 Queens and a Joker" and Team 5, "Bowl Movement" are gaining on them. Season High Scratch Scores: Team Scratch Series: Team 5, "Bowl Movement" with a 1983 (Lakana and Frank Burkett, Jerry Campbell, and Tom Leamy). Team Scratch Game: Team 15, "Help! Us" with a 723 (Rosemary Dimitt, Karen and Jon Enderson and Dolph Mason) Men's Scratch Series: Andy Toro (722), Men's Scratch Game: Dolph Mason (278). Women's Scratch Series: Carol Ellis (501), Women's Scratch Game Peg Laurel (192). Season High Handicap Scores: Team Handicap Series: Team 17, "Four 4 Fun" with a 2774 (Diane and Gaylord Spence, Martie and Marv Steggell). Team Handicap Game: Team 6, "Up Your Alley" with a 958 (Rich and Bev Bly, Sue Volz and Kristi Herring). Men's High Handicap Series: Paul Gomez (777), High Handicap Game: Ken Smelker with a 292. Women's High Handicap Series: Nancy Purio (716), Women's High Handicap Game: Amy Stilson with a 272. I hit them hard to watch them splatter but to the ten pin it does not matter. Bowling drives me crazy because that ten pin is so lazy. We are 20 weeks into our winter league. Now is the time to make a move toward first place. Our first place team is "Just Lucky" with Gail Stormes, Marlene Gartman, Larry Stormes and Andy Toro. In second place is "Four Play" with Mitzi Taniguchi, Donna Reed, Ed Reed, and Ken Smelker. Only one and a half games back is "Take Some Leave Some" with Jerry Schneider, Jim Allen, Ed Quirke and Jim Ming. Also "SOB's" with Ginger Chavez, Ray Struchen and Bob Mclean. Season high scores for the men: Rick Shanefelt with High Scratch Series of 717, Andy Toro with High Scratch Game of 278, Ed Quirke with High Handicap Series of 790 and Larry Stormes with High Handicap Game of 292. Seasons high scores for the women: Diane Spence with High Scratch Series of 578, Tracy Galongo with High Scratch Game of 235, Pam Obry with High Handicap Series of 779, and Claudia Malinowski with High Handicap Game of 267. A day without bowling wouldn't kill me … but why risk it?
