Our Neighborhood Watch General Meeting was on Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 10 am in the RCN building. Our guest speaker was Mike Corbett who is currently on the Safety Committee and a member of the Neighborhood Watch Steering Committee. Mike covered a number of topics including a discussion about keeping our vehicles locked if parked in our driveways. He also suggested taking the garage door opener out of the vehicle if we park in our driveways. By doing this, we minimize the possibility of anyone getting into our car and using the garage door opener to gain access to the garage in order to remove property. Worse yet would be this person opening the garage door and entering the residence. It presents a very dangerous situation. Please lock your vehicles and minimize the opportunity for thieves in our community. Also be aware of the seasonal IRS scam where callers say they are from the IRS and you owe money on your income tax and can make a payment to avoid being arrested. The IRS does not call and threaten to arrest you unless you make a payment. If you get one of the IRS scam calls, please call the Beaumont Police Department to make them aware scam artists are working our area. Speed continues to be a problem on Four Seasons Circle. Please slow down and be aware of pedestrians crossing the streets. If you walk during early morning and evening hours, please take a flashlight and wear reflective clothing, if possible, so you are more visible to vehicles traveling in our community. A special thank you to Mike Corbett for being our guest speaker. Remember, if you see something, say something. ~ Jerry Monahan 30 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2018 Neighborhood Watch
