FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2018 41 Let's Dance Our dance group started off the New Year with several new faces including singles. We all had a great time learning the East Coast Swing in February! Our dance for March is the Tango. This dance is not only really fun to do, it teaches you how to lead and follow better than any other dance. Tango is dramatic and exotic and considered simple and easy to learn. We will be starting with the basics so everyone is encouraged to come. Let's Dance is excited to announce our new schedule beginning Monday, March 5: 6 to 7 pm – Newcomers and Beginners, $10 per person for a full one hour lesson; 7 to 8 pm – Intermediate and Advanced, $10 per person for a full one hour lesson. We think this new schedule will really help our dancers learn more at their own level. Our professional instructors will be able to focus on our beginners and move them along with an entire hour of instruction. Also the experienced dancers will have a full hour to improve their skills. We have been dancing in The Courts Multipurpose Room during the Ballroom renovation. Our group has been practicing on Thursday nights in the RCN building at 6 pm. This is a free event and so very important. It's amazing how much more you will learn and improve. Practicing with a group is best because what one doesn't remember the other does, and you will help and encourage each other. So give practice a try – you will be glad you did! For information contact Puring or Gary Stifter at (951) 922-8333, or at purings@verizon.net. ~ Sue Condurachi The line dance class keeps growing and having even more fun. This is the perfect class for you if you need more exercise and need to meet people. Line dancing allows for "variations" as long as you are moving in the same direction as everyone else on the floor. This is wonderful for those who can't spin all the way around or have knee or hip problems. I can usually figure out a step that accommodates you. There will be another very beginners class this month from 2:15 pm to 3 pm each Tuesday. If you have ever wanted to learn to line dance, this is your chance. I teach the basic steps, plus you will learn at least two dances, usually after the first class. If you have taken this class before, but feel you need more help, please repeat the class. There are usually about 10 to 12 students, so I can give you more assistance than in a larger class. I have some assistants to help with instructions as well. You will notice we have added another 15 minutes to this class, which allows us to do a review of last week's dances and still teach at least one new dance. The same rules apply: you must come to all the classes or wait until the next odd month's class. This is important because each dance teaches you new steps which makes learning new dances later much easier. All of our sock hops so far this year have been cancelled due to Ballroom construction. We have a free sock hop scheduled for April 13, a Friday night from 5 to 8:30 pm. Order dinner from Smitty's, BYOB and plan to have fun and dance a lot. Our favorite DJ will be in charge again. We will furnish water, ice and cups. Hope to see you in class or at the dance. For more info, contact, Martha Franck, (951) 769-3889. ~ Martha Franck Line Dancing
