56 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2018 Ping Pong Let the games begin! We will be holding the first tournament of 2018 in March. The tournament is open to all levels of experience. Dates are as follows: March 17: Women's singles at 9:30 am. Women's doubles at 1 pm. March 24: Men's singles at 9:30 am. Men's doubles at 1 pm. There will be sign-up sheets in the Multipurpose Room located at The Courts or, you may email Don Fant at dlilfant@yahoo. Spectators are always encouraged. Brackets and teams will be chosen randomly the night before and displayed on our newly purchased 48" x 36" white board the morning of the competition. Our goal is to hold a tournament every quarter so, if you are unable to attend in March, stay tuned as there will be more dates announced soon. Whether you're an experienced ping pong player or have never played, we have something for everyone. For beginners, there is instruction on Thursdays at 10 am and for the "A" player, we have an advanced group that meets on Tuesdays 2 to 4 pm. Please contact Don Fant if you are interested in the "A" group, as there is a qualification process for this group. Regular club hours are Monday 10 am to 3 pm, Tuesday 10 am to 2 pm and Wednesday thru Saturday 10 am to 3 pm. See you at The Courts. ~ Tracey Laykoff Fishing Club I cannot believe that it is March already. Because of injuries, I have been going to the doctor's office more than I have been fishing. I am really ready to go after the big fish and I am getting better health-wise. One of my good fishing buddies, Jim Stover, has moved to Yuma, Arizona. Before he left he told me that I could come fishing with him in Yuma anytime I wanted. Guess what? I will be heading to Yuma to go fishing with Jim as soon as he is settled in. I know that in the next several months there will be all kinds of fishing tournaments to go to and have a great time fishing. When I find out about a local fishing tournament I will post the information on the Lodge board so, if you are interested, you can give it a shot. If enough people are interested I can set up a guided fishing trip on a guide boat. This trip will probably be to Diamond Valley Lake. One of the guides I talked to said that he can take four people on his boat. He will supply all the fishing equipment and bait. All we have to do is show up and pay him and away we go. I can almost assure you that we will catch fish and have a great time doing it. After I get enough people interested, I will call you with all the information about the fishing trip. Once again, I will post the interest sign-up at the Lodge board. Any time you go fishing there is always a little planning that has to be done in order to have a good trip. I usually spend a couple of hours making calls and getting my fishing equipment ready. Never forget to take three things: tackle box, fishing poles, and a fishing net. I have a checklist that I go through to make sure that I have everything I need to have a great time fishing. Tight lines to all my fishing friends and remember, it is a great time to go fishing and make new friends. ~ Richard Carrasco Dennis Boozer with nice cat taken from Lake Wolhford.
