By Theresa Rossetti, Resident From December till the end of January, the Chicks with Sticks (Knitting, Crocheting and Needlework) group has been working on creating red hats for babies in conjunction with the American Heart Association and the Little Hats, Big Hearts program. On January 31, a group of "the Chicks" went to Hemet Hospital to deliver the 112 hats that the group made. This was our fifth year participating in the program, and we are justifiably proud of our small contribution to this effort to empower moms to live heart healthy lives and to help their children do the same. For 2018 the organization received more than 200,000 hats for distribution! AMERICAN HEART MONTH SPAS Melodrama Susan Austin's Bunco Group "The Bunco Bunnies" decided to, once again, spread some holiday cheer this past Christmas. For our December Bunco night, instead of doing the traditional "gift exchange" amongst ourselves, we all decided to purchase books to be donated to pre-school age children. On December 12, Susan Austin drove her sleigh, accompanied by her two elves Nanette Douglas and Susan Briggs, to deliver three boxes filled with books (and fruit… thank you Mary Ellen Daylong). Our destination was the San Jacinto Unified School District's Head Start/State Preschool Program where we met with the Director Elizabeth Zaragoza and her staff. They were all so thrilled and appreciative of our donation! Spreading Some Holiday Cheer! Solera Performing Arts Society proudly presents Lost in Tumblerock, with rough and tumble, rootin', tootin' cowboys, ruffled can- can girls, a FOR REAL villain, a hero and a heroine. There will be lots of opportunities to boo and hiss… and even a love scene! Come see it all packed into one performance on Friday, April 13 at 6:30 pm, Saturday, April 14 at 1 pm and 6:30 pm.
