FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2018 19 Greetings! Mentalist Mark Stone thrilled and delighted our Four Seasons Residents with his performance. We had another sell out crowd! A big thank you to Pepsi Powers, Jeanette Pacheco, Linda Cunningham, Sandy Buelna, Bob Powers, and Marion Herron for assisting me with this production. Another big thank you to Cindy Graves and Danya Lynd for all of their behind-the- scenes work. We will have another exciting Paint Night on June 2 so mark your calendars and be on the look out for the April flyer with information about ticket sales. This event will have limited seating and tickets will sell out quickly. ~ Pamela Morales Social Committee The finance committee held its regular meeting on Feb. 27. The financial statement for the month of January was reviewed and recommended for BOD approval. Highlights of the January financial report follows. Total Assets are $8,397,194 including checking $182,147 and reserve assets $6,640,443. Operating money market and CDs totaled $1,457,751. Total Liabilities at this time are $360,244 and Total Equity of $1,396,507. There was a net income loss for the month of $26,241. Although this net income loss is considerably lower than previous months, the committee continues to closely monitor our Net Income for recommendations to the BOD. Previously the Finance Committee recommended and the BOD approved use of money markets and CDs to offset the net income losses. Front yard cost center expenses were under budget by $3,864 and Springdale cost center expenses were over budget by $809. Eight vendor proposals were reviewed. Five were recommended for board approval and the other three will be revisited after follow up research. Committee persons and Board Liaison, Claudeen Diaz, were present. Three homeowners and four committee persons were in attendance. There is an opening on the Finance Committee. If you are interested, please come to our next meeting in April. ~ Barry Ginnetti Finance Committee The committee welcomes Joe Barletta and John Baeyertz as new members. They were ratified by the Board of Directors at the open meeting held on Feb. 8. Both new members bring a wealth of facilities management experience to the committee and we believe they will serve the committee well. Sadly, however, Stefan Just resigned from the committee due to outside commitments. The committee thanks Stefan for his service during his time with us and we will miss his expertise. At our meeting on Feb. 20, in accordance with our charter, members were assigned Areas of Responsibility. Area ownership implies more frequent visits (i.e. inspections) of the area of responsibility. Thus, maintenance issues and smaller problems can be nipped in the bud before they become big, expensive problems. The repairs to the Lodge by the builder have been completed and, by the time of this publication, the carpeting and tile renovations should be at or near completion. Please check the Four Seasons Daily Report for up-to-date information on the project. Also, the project to modify the canopy for the pickleball courts was completed on Feb. 26. Our committee has several proposals still in the review process. In light of the current financial situation, it is expected that proposals with merit and having reserve funds will be approved by the Facilities Committee and forwarded to the Finance Committee for its approval. In addition, it is expected that we will consider new (capital) expenditures that have merit and approve them on a priority basis — safety being the top priority. We meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 8:30 am in the RCN building, Activity Room 3. As always, we welcome residents to bring us their ideas or concerns. ~ Richard Ladeira Facilities Committee Don't miss our June 2 Paint Night!
