Our next Neighborhood Watch General Meeting will be on
Wednesday, April 11 at 10 am in the Ballroom.
We have been told of numerous vehicles on Mesa Verde Park
driving through the stop sign and entering the roundabout on Four
Seasons Circle. There have been several close calls with other vehicles.
Please come to a complete stop before entering the roundabout.
Neighborhood Watch will be scheduling AED training at Four
Seasons in the near future. There will be an sign-up list for those
interested. This is an important piece of equipment with easy to
follow instructions, and has been credited with saving lives. Sign up
and we will contact all interested residents when we have a date.
MEDICARE ALERT: Starting April 1, Medicare will be starting a
year-long project to replace our current Medicare cards, converting
to alphanumeric numbers instead of our Social Security numbers.
The new card will be sent to you in the mail. You do not need to
request one or do anything. You do not need a temporary card.
THE MEDICARE SCAM: Somebody will call you and tell you
that you are getting a new Medicare card, but until it comes, you need
a temporary card. THIS IS NOT TRUE.
The fee for the temporary card is between $5 and $50 and they
want personal, bank account, and credit card information so they can
process your temporary card. THIS IS NOT TRUE.
REMEMBER: Medicare will never call you unless you ask them
to. Medicare does all communication by mail unless you ask them to
call. Use your answering machine to screen calls and, if you do not
recognize a number, do not answer it.
Be safe and protect your personal information. If you receive a
call from someone claiming to be from Medicare, call the police to
let them know the scammers are working our area. Never give your
personal, bank account or credit card information to anyone claiming
to be representing Medicare.
As usual, if you see something, say something. ~ Jerry Monahan
