30 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | APRIL 2018 |
Ever since the days when the TV program Star Search was
America's top talent show, many of us have been captivated by the fact
that there is so much undiscovered talent all over the country. Thanks
to television shows like America's Got Talent and The Voice, America is
still searching for that diamond in the rough.
Within the IE and even closer to home, we at "Good Times Karaoke"
with Rosie Ingalls, Barb Miller & D.J. Blast have been pleasantly
amazed at how many truly fine vocalists we have met and continue to
welcome to our karaoke microphones.
Things have come a long way since the days of The Arthur Godfrey
TV talent show of the 50s. Thanks to the advent of digital technology
and the ever growing popularity of karaoke, anyone can become
a local star. For a long time this was something that could not be
realized until the expansion and accessibility of mobile karaoke
systems. Many folks ask us how they can practice the songs they
may sing at karaoke. The best advice we have is to look up karaoke
songs on any computer or mobile device. Almost all popular songs
have been translated to a karaoke format. Most singers are constantly
looking for different songs to sing because they get bored with the
same songs and would like to expand their repertoire. We are pleased
that people have an interest in new material.
Mark your calendars for Sat., April 4 at the North Clubhouse and
Fri., April 27 at the South Clubhouse. Shows are from 5:30 to 9 pm.
Looking forward to seeing and possibly meeting new folks at our next
events and as usual we will keep a mic on for you.
