| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | APRIL 2018 | 7 The Sun Lakes Country Club Homeowners Association Annual Meeting of the Membership will be held on April 11, at 9 am in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. There are three open positions on the Board of Directors. Each newly elected director will serve a two-year term. The results of the proposed amendment to the Bylaws and approval of IRS Revenue Ruling 70-604 will also be calculated by the Inspectors of Election at this meeting. The Sun Lakes Country Club Homeowners Association District Delegate and Alternate District Delegate Election is held in conjunction with the Annual Meeting of the Membership and Election of Directors. The District Delegate and Alternate District Delegate election results will also be tabulated by the Inspectors of Election on April 11, 2018. Each newly elected District Delegate and Alternate District Delegate will serve a two-year term. REMEMBER TO VOTE! 2018 Annual Meeting of the Membership and Election of Directors Staff Spotlight TORREY PINE We would like to formally introduce Torrey Pine to the members of the community who have not had the chance to meet her. She is the receptionist in the administration office at Sun Lakes. She joined the administration team at the beginning of the year. She is the first person you will see when you enter the office. She has a vivacious and outgoing personality and has proven to be a wonderful addition to our staff. Please stop by the office to meet her and welcome her to Sun Lakes! residents to use. • Lastly, the Board approved the 2018 Recreation calendar of events as presented. January Report on Executive Session Action (non-confidential) The Board of Directors held Executive Session Board meetings on January 10 and January 24, 2018 in the Administration Conference Room. The following are action items the Board took at these meetings: • The Board sent out an RFP late last year for audit and tax services. In January, the board approved Lund & Guttrey, as their new audit and tax firm. They met with this firm in January to discuss audit preparation and to answer questions. • The Board received a request for an extension to a 50-play golf card. The Board approved a limited extension through April 2018. • The Board received four requests for a variance to the parking rules and regulations. After review of each matter, the Board denied two requests for a variance, and approved two requests on a limited basis. • The Janitorial Services Agreement was approved for 2018. • The contract for lake and waterfall management with DWI was approved for another year. • The legal services agreement with Fiore, Racobs, & Powers was approved for another year. • The Board approved a payment plan for a homeowner who was behind on HOA assessments. • There was a request from a homeowner about the enforcement of dogs off leash at Gate 3 grass area. The Board informed the homeowner that the new community patrol team, Securitas, will be enforcing the rules and regulations in the community, including dogs off a leash, and homeowners in violation will be given a citation. • The Board met with Associa-PCM representatives and discussed an amendment to the management agreement. • The Board reviewed legal items as they pertain to ballot measures. • The Board reviewed legal items as they pertain to Sun Lakes property. • There was a request from a homeowner for a refund of an annual golf membership. The Board voted to approve the request. • The Board discussed a member discipline issue. • The Board held two show cause hearings for violations of the rules and regulations. • A homeowner requested to meet with the Board on a personal matter. • A request for proposal was sent out to reserve study vendors. The board reviewed the proposal from the companies that responded. The Board selected Association Reserves. • The Board was given an update on the possible Gate 1 Guard House renovations and expansion to accommodate the new community patrol changes. • Finally, the Board gave direction to take action on the three association owned homes to turn on the utilities and install sod at each home.
