36 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | APRIL 2018 | HAPPY EASTER! I hope this month brings each and every one of you happiness, good health and quality time with family and friends. For me, the traditional Easter Egg Hunt with the grandchildren will be a week early and minus one grandchild as she is still in Mississippi doing good work for Americorp. The younger granddaughter will have all the eggs to hunt herself. Our next meeting and support group is Thurs., April 19 at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. There is no guest speaker this month. This will give you more time for the much needed support group. As a caregiver, you are no good to your loved one if you don't take care of yourself. Please make time to attend. These meetings are important. ALL caregivers are welcome. We are here to support and educate you, plus entertain your loved one while you attend the meeting. Drop your loved one off in the Arts and Craft Room for an hour of live entertainment, exercise, fun and games. All of the volunteers caring for your loved one has had a family member with dementia and have experience dealing with this disease. Thank you to Valerie Hubbard who sang in January, Tin Man's Heart who entertained in February and the Makua Hula Dancers who entertained in March. These people generously gave their time and talent to entertain our loved ones these past few months. They are special people. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about Memory Loss, we have reading material we can loan you. Call Diane, 769-0130 or Anne, 845-8700. Remember, we are here to help. Continuing with 50 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE here are #'s 13,14 and 15 #13 Dementia is a term used to describe memory loss and confusion. #14 Alzheimer's is the most common cause of dementia, but other conditions can also cause it. #15 Parkinson's disease, stroke and brain injuries can all cause dementia.
