Our women's billiards club has broadened their horizons lately. The Curley Cues of
Four Seasons in Beaumont invited Side Pocket Sisters to join them for a tournament.
Since this was the first time that another billiards group contacted us, we thought it
was very special. So off we went on the morning of February 26 to play at their lovely
facility. Each group had four teams and we played double elimination. Our players
included Donna Burgett, Cheryl Case, Liz Harn, Kathi Lavier, Joyce Leal, Edith Reed,
Lynn Roppé and Carolyn Whittaker. Edith Reed and Lynn Roppé took first place. We
all had a great time and send a big thank you to the Curley Cues for reaching out to us.
On March 7 the sisters had their first quarterly tournament and breakfast pot luck
of the year. As usual there was lots of laughing, eating and even some billiards play.
It came down to the last two teams, consisting of Janet Knight and Berkie Harris,
and Lise Goddette and Edith Reed. After a fierce battle Lise and Edith emerged the
winners. What a sisterhood!
