Friends
By John Wright, Resident
In that domain of time and space,
Where lives old friends from years gone past.
With memories saved, nor time erase,
As granite stone to last and last.
Oh, to recall them as we might.
Again, to chat and grasp their thought,
Discourse so freely through the night,
Of concepts gained and battles fought.
They are my prize, the best I win,
The priceless treasures from my toil.
Their memories to bring joy again,
For only flesh must meet with soil.
This prize is mine, alone to keep,
This harvest from my life I reap.
