"With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning!" Meet Some Sunshiners: Two of the ladies who make the desserts happen for the team are Nancy Drake and Carole Barber. They have been together in this effort for some time now. By the way, there are other members of this group, but they were not here on picture day. May we take this opportunity to say thank you to the community for their contributions of desserts. We would not be as successful without YOU! The ladies above are members of the Newcomers team. Candace Hawley, Rose Harvey, Linda Adkins and Karen Brennon visit new residents. They greet new folks and give them information on what is going on in Four Seasons. They are part of the goodwill we spread throughout our community. From time to time, we like to share the individual team members. We serve this community and no one person does it all alone. We feel we have an outstanding group of men and women who share their talents and their hearts throughout the year. You will be seeing more of us in the June Herald. Thank you all for your support. Programs March 29 – Reverse Mortgage – Pros and Cons. This is the first of our evening programs. The comments from those who attended were positive and thanked us for presenting this kind of information. April 18 - we host a "Meet the Mayor of Hemet" program. May 17 – Health Fair, 10 am to 1pm in the Ballroom. April Kindness Award: We have scored a triple SET of very special helpers nominated by Bill and Gitana Johnson Jennie Massie, and Bruce and Robin Rickert were nominated for the April Kindness Award, by Bill and Gitana Johnson. These three are being recognized for their gracious kindness shown to the Johnsons during Bill's unexpected triple bypass surgery. Bill and Gitana Johnson wrote, (in part) that Jennie Massie, and Bruce and Robin Rickert were her helpers during Bill's recovery. They brought dinners, called regularly to ask what more they could do, and provided encouragement as Bill continued to do his exercises to get better. For these reasons and more, we would like to present this trio of kind neighbors with the April 2018 Team Sunshine Kindness Award. Celebrations of Life/Memorials: We are saddened by the passing of Gary Gallagher, Marilyn and Michael Gallagher's son. A service was held in San Marcos on March 24. Our heartfelt condolences go out to this dear family. "Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day; unseen, unheard but always near; still loved, still missed and very dear." There may be others in the community who are mourning the loss of a loved one. We extend our condolences to these families as well. Team Sunshine Need Information: Please fill out a *NEEDS* Form at the Lodge Front Desk if you know of someone who has recently lost a loved one. This form can also be used for various kinds of needs assistance. In case you prefer not to call but would like us to know of a need, this form will record your concern and will be passed on to the appropriate Team Sunshiner. Medical Equipment: We have medical equipment that we deliver and pick up from residents. We do, however, stress that the return of medical equipment to the Lodge be discontinued. If you have medical equipment that needs to be returned, please call Jeanne Lincoln (765-7112) and you will be advised of the proper disposition. Many thanks for your cooperation. Closing Thoughts: "Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new." ~ Albert Einstein Team Sunshine 20 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | MAY 2018 |
