The Bocce spring season of 2018 started with the welcome back BBQ on March 22 in the Ballroom. The first two weeks of playing the game were rained out. We are hoping to be able to play the rest of the season. The last game of the regular season is May 17. The final playoff will be May 24. Please let Orville know if your team wants to be in the finals. Only paid up regulars players may participate in the finals, no subs for these games. You may compete with any number of your regular team members, four members equals four bocce balls, three members equals three bocce balls, etc. The Awards Banquet is on Thurs., June 7. It will begin at 5 pm with dinner, awards and entertainment. Please mark your calendars and let Sue know how many will be attending. The season is 10 weeks long. We play for a maximum of 45 minutes or 15 points, the game ends when either one of these occur. As long as there is one team member playing, each team could possibly play with three subs during the regular season. Any resident of Four Seasons is eligible to be a sub. All team members must be present to play in the finals. If you would like to watch or possibly be a sub and play, please come out to the courts any Thursday morning. The first game will start at 9 am and the second game will begin at 10 am. We invite any interested individuals to attend our committee meetings. The next scheduled meeting is May 4 at 10 am in the Conference Room at the Lodge. Remember any resident of Four Seasons may sign out the Bocce equipment and play at any time. The Lodge attendant will be happy to assist you! If you are new to the game and would like some coaching, please contact me to set up a day and time. They have been added into the new Revised Fitness Schedule. The Fitness schedule probably has at least one, hopefully more, time(s) which will fit your daily schedule and make exercise convenient, free and/or affordable, right here at Four Seasons. The new schedule includes all the classes that were available to us before, with the option of your health care plan paying for your attendance. If you are not yet (age) eligible for Silver Sneakers, or it is not a benefit of your health insurance plan, purchase of a punch card, 10 classes for $35, is still an available option to cover the cost of classes with our certified instructor. The Revised Fitness Schedule with Silver Sneakers classes includes: Aqua Fitness, on Monday and Wednesday at 8 and 9 am; Cardio and Strength Level 1 (which is the entry level class for beginning exercisers and those with physical challenges, on Tues./Thurs. at 9 am). Yoga Flow begins at 10:30 am on Tuesday and Thursday and is great for stretching out those muscle kinks and arthritis twinges. All the classes are conducted seated or standing, so you can move through the exercises at your own comfort level. After the second Aqua Fitness Class on Mondays and Wednesdays we have the more advanced Circuit Challenge, which is Silver Sneakers Level 2. And again, chairs are available for your comfort and to aid you in the completion of all movements. Therefore, if you are interested in attending both sets of classes, SS Level 1 and SS Level 2, you may do so. Pick your most convenient time, come over to the Lodge and give your expanded choices for health and fitness a try.
