FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MAY 2018 35 Counter Culture Cinema Come join us for two small films you may have missed in the movie theaters. Our first monthly screening, on Sunday, May 13 at 6 pm, is the film Denial (UK 2016, 1 hr. 49 min., English). Here is a brief description from IMDb.com: "Based on the acclaimed book History on Trial: My Day in Court with a Holocaust Denier, Denial recounts Deborah E. Lipstadt's (Academy Award winner Rachel Weisz) legal battle for historical truth against David Irving (Cannes Award winner Timothy Spall), who accused her of libel when she declared him a Holocaust denier. In the English legal system in Defamation, the burden of proof is on the accused; therefore it was up to Lipstadt and her legal team to prove the essential truth that the Holocaust occurred." Our second monthly screening, on Sunday, May 27 at 6 pm, is the film Indignation (USA 2016, 1 hr. 50 min., English). Here is a brief description from IMDb.com: "Set in 1951, the story follows Marcus Messner, the idealistic son of a humble kosher butcher from Newark, N.J. Marcus leaves for Ohio to study at a small, conservative college, where he finds himself at odds with the administration, grapples with anti-Semitism and sexual repression and pines after a troubled girl." All of our screenings are followed by lively discussion about the film; we'd love to have you join us. The Lodge Theatre has very limited seating, so if you're interested in our screenings, come early; we hope to see you there. Please note that all films announced are subject to availability. If you have any questions about the Counter Culture Cinema Club or want to recommend a film, please email Micki Rosen at michelesrosen@gmail.com. ~ Micki Rosen Four Seasons Veterans There are veterans living here dealing with PTSD as a result of their military actions and duties served. Some of our veterans are still dealing with the effects of their VOT/POW experiences. These veterans are sensitive to shrill sounds, alarms, wind chimes, etc. and we should respect the quiet they seek. If you are asked by a veteran neighbor to silence a noisy wind chime, then let's respect their needs and sensitivity to these sounds. If you're a veteran living in Four Seasons, please sign up for inclusion on our "Honor Roll." I meet and greet with vets personally in the Lodge every Wednesday at 12 pm. The interview is simple and your photo is included on the "Honor Roll" website at www. fourseasonsvets.org. Contact Irve Sturner, irve@verizon.net or (949) 422-9969, to confirm your interview, place and time. ~ Irve Sturner
