He has been an integral part of The Performing Arts Club for nine years. He first served as President and is now the Treasurer. In addition to being a "Real Man," Colin has been an accomplished magician for over 10 years. He is an active member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. There is much more than comedy and magic to describe Colin. He's always available and willing to offer his help wherever it's needed. It might be to help set up our stage, acting as an extra in a skit, and/ or helping out the Sound and Stage crews, and more. Colin was born in Kent, England. Due to his father being in the British Army, his first school was in Kuala Lumpur. During his school years, he went to 15 different schools until his dad retired from the military. He graduated from Portsmouth University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Thereafter, Colin designed electrical propulsion systems for subway cars and trains. In 1977, he was recruited by Honeywell. He retired as an Aerospace Chief Electrical Engineer. During his career, he was awarded 25 patents. Colin enjoys kayaking, backpacking, and motorcycling vacations in countries most of us can't locate on a globe. Overall, Colin is a fascinating individual with a heart of gold. Thank you for everything you do! ~ Teri Meyers-Kelman "I'm Glad I'm Not Young Anymore" a Talent/Comedy Show Friday, May 18 and Saturday, May 19 at 6 pm in the Lodge Ballroom FREE Tickets available starting Tuesday, May 1! Amphitheater We're quickly approaching summer. This means warm days with plenty of sunshine and the beginning of our Summer Concert series. Once again, musical groups have been selected to bring back memories of your favorite tunes from the 50s through the 70s. The first concert for 2018 is scheduled for Sunday, May 20. Kicking off this summer series is the group, "Acoustic." This musical group began as a trio when asked to provide musical entertainment at their high school's 40th alumni celebration. The three musicians were Larry Larson, Randy Brown, and Tom Bralley. The trio's approach to "classic rock" was so successful, the three musicians formed "Acoustic." After several years, the group of three has now grown to five with the addition of LeRoy Larson and John Would. The concert begins at 7 pm at the Amphitheater which is located adjacent to the paddleball courts. To reserve a spot, you are welcome to place your chairs in the Amphitheater after 10 am the day of the concert. This allows enough time for the sound crew to install and test the sound system and lighting. Don't forget to consider the pool area or the grass area as a site to get comfortable and enjoy the classic rock concert! As the sun goes down it can become quite cool, so a jacket or sweater might be needed. You are welcome to bring a beverage of your choice, which must be in a non-glass container. See you there! ~ Doris SanFilippo
