42 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MAY 2018 It has been such an amazing experience studying (or re-studying) the minor prophets in the Old Testament. We have learned the meaning of each of their names. For instance, Hosea means "salvation; "Joel means "Lord is God;" Amos means "Burden-Bearer;" Obadiah means "Worshiper of God;" and Jonah means "Dove." These blessed prophets warned Israel and Judah for hundreds of years of their coming destruction/exile because of sin, idol worship and disobedience. In class discussions we were able to see how pertinent these messages are for us today, and they have encouraged us to live more like Christ. On June 8 we will hold our biannual potluck (aka feast) in the Ballroom, with a beach theme. As always, we have amazing food prepared by these talented women, and will enjoy each other's company. There's lots of laughter, a couple of quizzes, and prizes! Prior to the feast, however, we will have the first lesson in our next 8-week series on "Blessing Blockers." We will learn how and why blessings are blocked, and what we can do to have God's blessings rain on us in abundance, as well as how we can be a blessing to God and to others. Ladies, if you are interested in participating in a Bible study with some of the most wonderful women in Four Seasons, please come join us any Friday morning at 10:30 to 11:45 am in the game room at the Lodge. Doc Sellars will continue to facilitate our discussion. We invite all interested residents to join us in learning from God's Work as well as sharing our joys and concerns. We meet every Tuesday evening at 7 pm. Our regular meeting location is the third section of the Ballroom. We will notify regular participants of any room changes by email. Spring is in the air, and what a beautiful time to celebrate life, and all the beautiful things that were put here to enjoy. As we draw closer and closer to the middle of the year, things can get hectic as we plan for graduations and vacation. Sometimes an unexpected emergency changes everything we planned. The cares of life can get us down. If you get to that point, we are here for you. Every sickness, care, problem, anxiety and heavy burden should not be carried on your shoulders. Come pray with us because, as I have said before, there is power in prayer and agreement. It makes a difference when you know people are agreeing with you and truly care about what concerns you.
