24 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MAY 2018 Spring is here and summer is just around the corner. Summer at Four Seasons can be a very busy time as our families visit us during their summer vacations. We want to make sure all guests are safe while they are here. The Safety Committee offers the following tips for summer visits. Motor vehicles (this includes golf carts and motor bikes): It is against our community rules and the law for a person without a driver license to drive any motor vehicle on our streets. All rules of the road outside our community apply to all streets within our community. If a resident lets a young person or person without a driver license drive any motorized vehicles on our streets, it not only puts that operator and passenger at risk of serious injury, it puts other residents who are driving or walking at risk as well. If you see anyone violating this law, please contact the Beaumont Police Department with location, description of vehicle, and license plate if possible. Pools: We have three pools here at Four Seasons. The Lodge pool is open to guests of all ages from 1 to 4 pm daily. Pools at The Summit and The Courts are open to guests over the age of 18 only. Please check the rules and regulations for pool rules. For your safety and the safety others, there is no running, jumping, glass containers or throwing of objects allowed. Crosswalks: New manual push button activation for the constant flashing lights have been a priority and should be installed soon. Many of our residents enjoy walking within our community. Crosswalks have been installed to help pedestrians cross Four Seasons Circle when necessary. Pedestrians, please look both directions and make sure it is safe for you to cross before entering the crosswalk. If you see or hear a car coming, don't assume they see you. Make sure you make eye contact with the driver and they are slowing down and preparing to stop before you leave the curb. If they don't appear to be slowing, please remain on the curb until the car has passed. Drivers, it is state law that motor vehicles yield/stop for pedestrians. This applies to crosswalks as well as any unmarked crossing area. By now all residents are aware of where our crosswalks are, as well as other areas that people cross on a regular basis. Please slow down when approaching all crosswalks and look to see if someone is waiting to cross. Please slow down! The biggest concern brought up at each Safety Committee meeting is speeding cars. The speed limit on Four Seasons Circle is 30 mph. This is a very safe speed, however many residents exceed the speed limit on a regular basis and this puts them and everyone else on the road at risk. The Safety Committee meets the first Tuesday of each month at 10 am in the RCN Conference Room. We welcome all residents to attend, to observe, or to bring any safety concerns to the Committee. ~ Donna Lewis Safety Committee
